The Mexican chain Ancho & Agave is bringing another restaurant to Chicagoland.

According to the article from NCTV17, the restaurant will be taking over the former Houlihan’s at 2860 Showplace Drive in Naperville. This will be opening this summer and will be their sixth location. Other Ancho & Agave locations are in Bloomington, Middleton, Wisconsin, Omaha, Nebraska, Deer Park and Lombard.

What Now Chicago covered the most recent opening of their Lombard addition in December 2024. This was installed at the busy Yorktown Center.

The restaurant offers many tacos, monthly specials, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas and margaritas. June “especiales” are the gyro taco with lamb and beef, conchinita pibil quesadilla with braised pork shoulder and chicken with mole which has red mole, caramelized unions and yellow cornmeal.

Houlihan’s currently has 43 restaurants across the country. In recent years, the company has been scaling back and closing locations.

According to the NCTV17 article, the new Naperville addition should be opening by mid-to-late August. There has not yet been an announcement on their Instagram or other social media pages.

What Now Chicago has reached out to Ancho & Agave, and this article may be updated.
