Fulton Market District is continuing to see new development with a new restaurant addition coming soon.

Discussions are happening online about a new restaurant called Black Briar opening at 201 N Morgan Street. Chef Jimmy Papadopoulos from Bellemore and Bohemian House is organizing the project. Papadopoulos told What Now Chicago the opening date right now is sometime this summer.

Papadopoulos has taken a break from the Chicago restaurant scene for about five years, and now he is making his return as the owner. He has partnered with Tim Anderson, the former GM for Bellemore at 564 W Randolph Street, which is now closed.

Construction is now starting on the project, which is in the heart of Fulton Market District. Next to the building is Gaijin Okonomiyaki restaurant, and Tapicozza West Loop is also close-by. This will be near the Morgan Green Line CTA station.

Papadopoulos will be releasing more information prior to the opening date. The restaurant’s Instagram page is @blackbriarchi.
