New Concept Labriola Italian Specialties to Debut at Fulton Market Next Spring

The successful restaurant group is expanding in West Loop next year.

Rich Labriola and Doughboy Restaurant Group are getting ready to introduce a new restaurant to the busy market district.

In a recent announcement, Labriola Italian Specialties is opening at 852 W Fulton Market next spring. This will be a spot for Doughboy’s signature pizzas, Sicilian cannoli, as well as a late-night walk-up window for sweets. Phil Wilson, president of Doughboy, said there is not an exact opening date yet.

Currently, Labriola and his group own three restaurants in the Chicago area including Labriola Cafe and LaBerra Ristorante in Oak Brook, and Labriola Chicago on Michigan Avenue. They also own Stan’s Donuts & Coffee, a brand with around 30 locations.

“Labriola Italian Specialties is the culmination of everything I love about Italian food and hospitality,” Labriola said in a press release. He added he wants the concept to feel like a gathering place for Fulton Market.

For its menu, Labriola will feature the company’s signature oven pizzas, pastas and desserts. The inside space is planned to seat over 100 guests, and 30 at the bar along with outdoor seating. The goal is to make the space a destination for both casual lunches and celebratory dinners.

The new location is coming to the east side of Fulton Market, replacing City Tap. This is next to Beatrix, as well as Costera Cocina Tulum. Updates on construction, as well as the menu, will be released in the coming weeks.
