A new Lazy Dog location is coming to Algonquin next year.
It was recently reported by Patch.com that the Lazy Dog restaurant chain is planning on expanding to 1731 S Randall Road in Algoniquin. This will be their sixth location in Illinois, with the others in Buffalo Grove, Oak Brook, Naperville, Orlando and Cantilly, Virginia. There are also restaurants in California, Colorado, Georgia, Nevada, Virginia, Florida and Texas.
According to the article, the new location will be a lodge-style building, much like their other locations. It is expected to open in 2026, and it is being built on the south side of Algonquin. The restaurant will be across the street from Target, and other establishments near it are Woow Sushi and Clean Eatz health food restaurant.
“We enjoy getting to know each neighborhood we join, and we’re excited to continue that journey in Algonquin,” said Chris Simms, founder and CEO of Lazy Dog in a press release.
Their menu is a large assortment of American cuisine including burgers, sandwiches, BBQ meatloaf and their Southern fried chicken salad. There are also wines and craft brews, as well as cocktails to choose from. They advertise as serving “made-from-scratch” American food on their Instagram.
The company was founded in 2003 by Chris Simms in Huntington Beach California. The restaurant is meant to give visitors the feeling of being in the Rocky Mountains.
