LM Restaurant Group has a new concept coming to the downtown hotel next month.
It is being reported a new restaurant called “17” is opening at the Hilton Orrington Hotel, 1710 Orrington Avenue. It will be a 17-seat dining area, playing off the name, with healthy options next to Land & Lake Cafe, which is coming this spring. The opening date is around Jan. 17.
Co-founder Stephan Outrequin is the main inspiration for the restaurant, as he suffered a near-fatal surfing accident on Jan. 17, 2021, from the press release. After this experience, he gained an appreciation for “nourishing the body” and caring for one’s longterm health. He then took on a plant-based lifestyle and decided to create a concept from this change.
What Now Chicago previously reported on LM Restaurant Group opening Land & Lake Cafe at the hotel December of last year. At the time, the team said this would be ready by January. LM also has locations for this chain in downtown Chicago and Rosemont.
The company was established in 2009, and is currently owned by Stephan and Nicole Outrequin Quaisser. Other concepts from LM Restaurant group include Evanston Corner Bistro, Grant Park Bistro and River North Bistro. For 17, the menu will mainly feature plant-based dishes.
The hotel is right in downtown Evanston, at the corner of Church Street and Orrington Avenue. Close-by are a Chipotle location, Colectivo Coffee Evanston and Everest Restaurant.
