According to a recent article from Shaw Local News Network, Junction will open sometime this fall in Crystal Lake at 88 Railroad Street.
A representative of Junction was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.
According to the article, Junction will be offering a Mediterranean-inspired menu, with “eclectic” food options. Paul Leech is said to have also been involved in the openings of Jude’s, Catina 52, owning The Cottage, and helping in the revamping of Hickory Hall.
The menu will feature a selection of delectable seafood dishes and a Mediterranean chicken recipe that Leech hopes will emerge as a standout dish, drawing in food enthusiasts seeking a taste of the Mediterranean.
Junction’s menu will set out to cater to a variety of tastes, ensuring that every guest finds something to delight their palate. Some of the other menu options that were mentioned range from burgers to protein-packed bowls, and milkshakes to creatively crafted “wacky” grilled cheese sandwiches. For those looking for a refreshing non-alcoholic option, Junction will also offer a selection of alcohol-free “mocktails.”
The concept of Junction has evolved over time. Initially proposed to the City of Crystal Lake in April 2022 as a railroad-themed bourbon bar and restaurant in collaboration with former partner Jim Tomasek, it underwent a creative transformation. Leech instead saw an opportunity to broaden the restaurant’s appeal by expanding the menu and embracing a more diverse culinary vision, Shaw Local News Network’s article stated.
