Lake Zurich’s Phase Three Brewing Company has recently signed a retail lease to open a new location in Elmhurst, located at 492-494 South Spring Rd.
The second location will move into the former home of Stemple’s Cycle Center, which has since closed. Now, owners Shaun and Brittany Berns and Evan Morris are getting ready to open a new 3,600-square-foot taproom with a full kitchen, to-go sales, and outdoor space. The exact opening date is unknown, but guests can expect to finally enter the company’s second location by the end of the year, possibly early 2023. The new site will be significantly smaller than the company’s original 28,000-square-foot microbrewery and production facility.
This is a massive agreement for the trio of owners, who opened the original location at 932 Donata Court in early 2019. The three collectively have more than 30 years of experience in the brewing, restaurant, and hospitality world, and they are using everything they know to expand to a second location. It didn’t take long before the brewery began to receive national attention. In 2021, Thrillist.com ranked the brewery as one of the “Hottest Breweries in America.”
“We’re honored to work with the Phase Three Brewing team to execute this lease and expand their footprint into DuPage County,” said Paul Montes, a Senior Vice President of Inland Commercial Brokerage, who represented Phase Three Brewing on the lease. “They are one of Chicagoland’s most sought-after breweries, and the new Elmhurst location is well positioned to draw customers from the surrounding communities.”
