Porkchop, a restaurant that offers an urban interpretation of a Southern backwoods experience, is making its way to Edgewater, located at 6341 N Broadway.

The company’s fourth location will move into the former home of 64 Bar & Grill at an unknown time. Owner Jovanis Bouargoub recently applied for a liquor license with no hints of an expansion on its website, so the restaurant will likely open sometime in Summer or Fall 2022. When the new location opens, guests can expect a neighborhood party spot featuring gourmet Southern comfort BBQ and an innovative bar program with some of the world’s top whiskeys.

Each location may have its own unique menu, but they all feature breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. No matter which site, guests can expect the finest hardwood smoked pork, beef, chicken, and seafood. Some mouth-watering meals include hush puppies, elote, BBQ sliders, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and tacos. The restaurant also offers various salads, steaks, sandwiches, sides, smoked meats, and southern favorites, such as chicken and waffles.

The new Porkchop will be situated just a few blocks from Loyola University Chicago, surrounded by other delicious eateries. The company currently has locations in West Loop, South Chicago, and Midway Airport. Like other locations, the new Edgewater location will feature different events and specials, such as ‘Taco & Tequila Tuesday’ and ‘Wine and Whiskey Wednesday.
