An Old Town pizza restaurant with a recently opened West Town takeout location is debuting a dining room.

Block Club Chicago recently reported on Professor Pizza opening a full-service dining room inside their new second location at 1374 Grand Avenue. This is already a takeout pizza option that is now open. According to owner Tony Scardino, this will be available to the public in four-to-five weeks.

The pizza shop also operates at 1610 N Wells Street in Old Town, offering dine-in or carryout options. Their menu has an array of styles, including cracker thin, Grandma style, cast iron, New York, Sicilian and Detroit style. Scardino told What Now Chicago the menu will look the same as the current location, with slice options and some other new additions.

Before the Old Town location, Scardino operated a ghost kitchen and served slices at a West Loop rooftop bar Recess. The new West Town restaurant will be the company’s second permanent location.

Professor Pizza in West Town has taken over the space of the former Bella Notte Italian restaurant. It is also next to the Tempesta Market deli. The space also offers outdoor dining options, and the new space will seat 40-45 guests.

The company also operates pop-ups around the city, as well as catering for private events. Scardino has been the owner of Professor Pizza since 2019, and he calls himself “Chicago’s pizza provocateur.” More information on the company can be found at professorpizza.com
