The Purple Pig is getting a new location at 15 Oakbrook Center in the outdoor mall. The acclaimed Chicago restaurant has been around since 2009 serving the community. They are currently located at 444 N Michigan Avenue.

According to information sent to What Now Chicago by Purple Pig, there will be Mediterranean cuisine, and there will also be a “Purple Pig Market” in the front. This will have pastries, pizza by the slice and gelato. Along with this, the full-service restaurant and bar will be in the back.

There will also be vegetarian dishes like roasted squash and salt-roasted beets in the winter. Desserts will be offered,  and the restaurant is putting an emphasis on serving seafood as well.

The project is being spearheaded by award-winning and Michelin-starred chef Tony Mantuano and his wife Cathy who have been involved with the restaurant for a long time. Owner Marianna Bannos is also involved in the project. They are hoping to open the new restaurant by the end of the year.

The restaurant will continue to post about the progress of the site on their Instagram @thepigchicago
