Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Chicago’s largest restaurant group with more than 120 restaurants throughout the country, is opening two new restaurants in Lincoln Park.

Previously, What Now Chicago reported that the restaurant group will close Quality Crab and Oyster Bah, The Gin Commission, and the Crab Cellar in the coming months for something new. Now, it has been revealed what will be replacing a few of the restaurants. First, Ramen-san will move into the former home of Oyster Bah and Crab Cellar at 1962 N. Halsted Street in early 2023. Then in late 2023, Lettuce Entertain You will open a third Sushi-san in the former home of the 40-year-old gay bar Manhandler Saloon at 1948 N. Halsted St.

This will be the company’s fourth location on Ramen-san, with sites already in River North, Streeterville, and Fulton Market. The first location opened in River North in 2014, resembling authentic Japanese shops with ’90s hip-hop music, late-night service, and sake bombs. While both restaurants will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, the new Ramen-san location won’t be an exact copy of the rest, choosing to focus on students and young families, according to a press release. The new site will feature classic menu items, such as fried chicken ramen, and new menu items.

As for Sushi-san, which is expected to open towards the end of next year, customers can currently find the restaurant in River North and Willis Tower. On top of the various sushi options, the Sushi-san also offers an Omakase room and catering. Summer House Santa Monica will sit in between these two new restaurants. These are just two of the many new restaurants from Lettuce Entertain You, which is also working on opening a new members-only club and a new West Coast-style restaurant.
