Art of Dosa

Art of Dosa, a South Indian vegan spot that operated for six years, closed its Sterling Food Hall location on August 1. The restaurant’s closure is due to an unsuccessful lease extension with the food hall’s operators. However, without losing hope, Art of Dosa hinted at possible plans of the restaurant making a comeback sooner in a different location.
The restaurant gained traction among Chicago locals with its quick service and fresh vegan options. Art of Dosa also made regular appearances at Riot Fest and Veggie Fest events.

After 25 years in business, Bacci Pizzeria in Ukrainian Village closed on August 23. The restaurant shared the heartbreaking news through a social media post. Bacci Pizzeria served over 500,000 signature Jumbo Slices, Chicago’s go-to favorite.
Although the Pizzeria is closing, fans can still enjoy Jumbo Slice at its Taylor Street, Loop/Downtown, and Madison St. locations and Chicagoland festivals.
Heritage Restaurant and Caviar BarÂ

Heritage Restaurant and Caviar Bar, a well-known restaurant at W Chicago Ave, Humboldt Park, served its final dinner on August 30. The beloved Chicago establishment offers crispy duck leg and frites, and iron skillet halibut, along with fresh salads. The dinner was usually paired with Heritage’s signature cocktails, beers, and wines.
In an Instagram post, the restaurant shared, “Last night we celebrated @heritage_chicago with one last bugle bump for the road. Over the years, @heritage_chicago has become so much more than just another incredible Chicago restaurant to us. It’s been like a second home. It’s where we’ve come for celebrations, brought our friends together, and enjoyed countless date nights.”
The restaurant was renowned for its delicious and innovative desserts, featuring house-churned ice cream, classic tiramisu, and a curated selection of liquid treats.

Twisted Spoke, the motorcycle-themed bar, closed after 30 years in business. The restaurant will be remembered for its warm atmosphere and long-standing presence in the neighborhood. Through a social media post, the restaurant shared that due to lease expiration, family time, and health reasons, the closure was made final, and said it was simply time to move on.
The restaurant served the final dinner on August 31.
