Evanston’s beer scene is not slowing down despite a closure on the city’s south side.

In a recent Facebook post, Saint Errant Brewing owners Brent Banks and Ryan Jacobs officially announced their taproom will be moving into the former brewery space at 2000 Dempster Street. Right now, the taproom is under construction. Banks told What Now Chicago they hope to open the doors around March.

“Expect a wide range of pours, from our signature hazy IPAs to crushable lagers, alongside house-made non-alcoholic draft cocktails and local snacks,” says the Facebook post.

The company started out as a nanobrewery that was making beer out of the Temperance Beer Co location. In December 2024, Temperance owner Josh Gilbert had to close his business due to rising costs, per a report from The Daily Northwestern. Banks and Jacobs had been planning this move since late last year.

Banks said the beer menu will have both current and new brews. This includes their Foolish Notion, a double dry hopped IPA with citra and nectaron, and the Dulce Et Decorum which is an imperial stout with vanilla beans. The new beers will debut at the opening of the brewery. Pre-made snacks will also be served at the brewery.

Saint Errant’s new space is on the south side of Dempster Street near Panino’s Pizzeria. The space also used to host food trucks from the area. It is not confirmed if food trucks will accompany Saint Errant’s in the future.

More updates and insights into the opening date will be released on Saint Errant’s social media pages in the coming weeks.
