A prolific Chicago restaurateur and franchisee is working on opening several new Te’Amo Boba Bar locations throughout Chicagoland.
Tony Hu, known for his other restaurants, Lao Sze Chuan and Shoo Loong Kan, has secured at least six additional locations of the bubble tea chain, according to Eater Chicago. The restaurateur has secured spots at Navy Pier, Willis Tower, 36 S. Michigan in Chicago Loop, 613 W. Diversey in Park West, Algonquin Mall, and 88 Marketplace in Pilsen. The company currently has locations in Chinatown, Hyde Park, Magnificent Mile, and Schaumburg.
The Park West location will move into the former home of Coldstone Creamery, while many others are moving into food halls and shopping centers. The exact opening dates of the new sites are unknown, but customers can expect the number of Te’Amo Boba Bar locations in Chicagoland to double by next year. The extensive growth of this year proves the company has its eyes on expanding even greater moving forward.
“We grew up in a place where tea culture is an important part of daily life,” according to the company’s website. “Tea is a culture of health and longevity, and for us, tea has always represented a connection between family and friends. We dedicated time to sourcing high-quality organic ingredients that are healthy and true to tea culture.”
