Tempesta, a sandwich and charcuterie shop, is making its way to West Loop Gate, located at 433 W. Van Buren St.

The new location will move into the upcoming food hall from 16″ On Center, called From Here On, replacing The Old Post Office. From the team behind the Revival Food Hall, this new food hall will host 11 different vendors and is expected to open as soon as early summer 2022. Other restaurants joining Tempesta include Familiar Bakery, Hot Chi Chicken, Flo’s Kitchen, Millie’s Pancakes, and more. The deli and grocery store, dedicated to cured Italian meats, opened in late 2017 under father-son duo Agostino and Antonio Fiasche.

“Obsessed with quality ingredients and a family tradition of sourcing and crafting the world’s finest Italian products, the Fiasche family is proud to present Tempesta Market,” according to the company’s website. “Tempesta Market will be a new multi-concept eatery offering a full-service delicatessen, in-house charcuterie, gelato, craft sandwiches, and an array of gourmet pantry items to take home.”

The hybrid deli takes pride in being the culmination of more than 100 years of Italian legacy, making unapologetically authentic and inspired foods. Some popular menu from the deli items includes The Dante with Hot Soppressata, mortadella, finnochinoa, hot coppa, and porchetta; Potato’ Nator with smoking goose bacon, hash brown, fried egg, and American cheese; and chicken and dumplings. When From Here On opens, it will become the Italian staple within an expansive space in the building’s first-floor lobby.

“Chicago is filled with some of the best culinary minds in the world,” Bruce Finkelman, the managing partner of 16″ On Center, tells Eater Chicago. “We’re able to take the headaches out of owning a brick-and-mortar and allow them to do what they do best: cooking. It’s inspirational. Especially coming after COVID. From here on, anything can happen. The possibilities are endless.”
