Terra E Mare, the new concept coming to The Loop from the owners of The Press Room, is currently in the liquor licensing phase. According to an application obtained by What Now Chicago, Terra E Mare will debut at 404-406 S. Wells St. The application was filed with the City of Chicago on October 21st.

We were unable to reach Co-Owner Petros Papatheofanis at the time of publication, so the new eatery’s concept and timeline remain a bit mysterious. If it’s anything like The Press Room, though, Chicagoland is in for a treat.

Papatheofanis together with Jeff Williams, Cristian Mendoza Jarquin, and Noah Zamler opened The Press Room in 2017 in a building in West Loop that used to house the Free Methodist Publishing House. The eatery has a strong cocktail program and a small but rather decadent menu of items like Steak Tartare, Squid Ink Chittara, King Oyster Mushrooms, and Braised Duck Leg. Even better, The Press Room hosts a Sunday evening cabaret show.

All of this to say, even without knowing exactly what Terra E Mare will bring when opens its doors, we can certainly get excited. As always, check back in with What Now Chicago for updates.
