According to a recent permit filing, The Confidante aims to debut in the Northalsted area at 3301 N Clark Street.
Derek Inpatura and Asana Nakornchai are behind The Confidante. Both are behind multiple other concepts. Derek is behind Bites Restaurant, while Asana is behind Flamingo Tea, for example.
According to Strauss Realty, the property was leased this May and boasts 2,842 square feet of space. Formerly “Hutch” Restaurant, this corner space features two dining areas, a 21-foot bar, a kitchen with a 15-foot hood, and outdoor seating on a 37-foot sidewalk patio.
Southport Corridor reported back in December of 2023, “After a successful decade in Lakeview, Hutch American Bistro is set to close its doors. The establishment, located at 3301 N. Clark St., first opened its doors in the summer of 2013, gaining recognition for its brunch offerings and bottomless drink specials.” A cited post in the article states the last day of operation was January 1st, 2024.
