A cafe with sustainable practices is moving to a new location in Pilsen by the end of the year.
Cafe Jumping Bean will be opening at 2025 S Halsted Street, per an article from Block Club Chicago. This marks the second expansion since the company first opened in 1994. Owner Eleazar Delgado told What Now Chicago he and staff are finishing up construction.
The flagship cafe is at 1439 W 18th Street, serving up freshly brewed espressos, matcha drinks and chai teas. The location is also known for pastry items like croissants and cheese danishes. Breakfast items like burritos with cheese and salsa are popular options.
Cafe Jumping Bean’s new Pilsen spot will be at the corner of S Halsted Street and S Canalport Avenue, across from the Children’s Museum of Art and Social Justice. According to Delgado, the project has been in the works for about four years, following the opening of the concept ‘L’ Cafecito Jumping Bean at 2010 S Damen Avenue. He and staff are excited to finally introduce the cafe to the community soon.
“We’re seeing it come to fruition,” Delgado said.
Inside, a full-sized kitchen is being installed for staff to bake inside. There is already a mural put up in front of the business, so locals know it is coming soon. It is possible another location will be added, but for now staff are focusing on the Pilsen opening.
