A waffle restaurant concept is soon coming to Evanston following the closure of Cinnaholic.
Wafflavor has been taking to Instagram to announce they are opening soon in Evanston at 1596 Sherman Avenue. As Cinnaholic closed last year, the business was looking to take over the space. This also used to be the location of Argo Tea, which served drinks and pastries.
“Your waffle, your flavor, your way,” says the website description.
While no menu has been added yet, the business is listed as a dessert shop, so guests can expect Korean waffles with sweet additions.
The company that owns Wafflavor is Sonovictus, which is based in Los Angeles. They also manage the brand Goobne Korean oven-roasted chicken and Egg Tuck. Projects the company has worked on include Jjan Korean Gastropub, Bon Bon Tap Korean Chimac pub, Milkream bubble tea and soft serve ice cream and Sushi Hon Omakase sushi house.
What Now Chicago previously covered their restaurant Egg Tuck expanding to Lincoln Park and UIC. They are known for their southern California Korean egg sandwich, bacon and egg sandwich and Royal West sandwich with a Korean short-rib-inspired patty.
What Now Chicago has reached out to the owner, and this article may be updated.
