The Fulton Market District proves to be one of the fastest developing areas in the city for dining.
It was recently reported by Crain’s Chicago Business that Joe Flamm is opening a cafe and wine bar called Bar Tutto at 1114 W Carroll Avenue. This is part of the hospitality company Day Off Group. There is not yet a solid opening date, but the team is aiming for this winter.
Owner and chef Flamm is currently the culinary director for Day Off which owns Rose Mary, BLVD Steakhouse and Il Carciofo. Flamm has gained recognition as having Michelin-starred kitchens and was the winner of Bravo’s Top Chef in its 15th season.
“Creating concepts that celebrate good food, good company and the highest level of hospitality since 2017,” says their website’s description. Il Carciofo was the most recent opening from the company, which What Now Chicago covered in December 2024.
According to the Crain’s article, the restaurant is meant to reflect wine bars and cafes in Italy. Along with wine, the space will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner items including pasta. The hours of operation have not been released, but it is expected to be an all-day establishment.
The restaurant is on the north end of the Fulton Market District, at the corner of N May Street and W Carroll Avenue. While the majority of restaurants around W Fulton and W Lake streets, it will continue to add to the culinary scene in the warehouse district.
