Dom’s Kitchen & Market will expand to open an Old Town store at 1225 North Wells Street, according to a press release from earlier today. Dom’s Old Town is expected to open in fall 2022, and the company, helmed by Mariano’s founder Bob Mariano, isn’t stopping there. It aims to reach 15 stores by 2025.

Dom’s Kitchen & Market debuted its first location in Lincoln Park in 2021. It follows a trend of grocery stores aiming to offer more than just a pleasant shopping experience. Described as “a coffee shop, wine bar, neighborhood kitchen, and grocer” all in one, Dom’s carries a curated selection locally-sourced and “globally-inspired” products.

“Building on the success of their flagship store at 2730 N Halsted St,  Dom’s will amplify the Old Town community with its carefully curated market products, chef crafted meals, and in-store dining venues,” shares the release.

In addition to organic and seasonally-driven grocery staples, Dom’s sells pre-made meals and made-to-order meals. “The Brew” is an in-house bar serving coffee and tea alongside beer, wine, and cocktails. A bakery component carries fresh bread and sandwiches.

The company raised $25 million in funding from groups like Cleveland Avenue, Valor Siren Ventures, and Wasson Enterprises, reports Chicago Business Journal. Don Fitzgerald of Dominick’s and Jay Owen of Dom Capital Group are also involved in the endeavor.
