According to a recently filed permit, a new Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurant called Siji Korean BBQ and Hot Pot is making plans to open at 1650 Georgesville Square Dr, in the former home of an O’Charley’s restaurant. As detailed in the permit documents submitted to the City of Columbus, renovations to the existing space are projected to cost $450,000.

In a phone conversation with What Now Columbus Siji Korean BBQ and Hot Pot owner Xing Chen shared that the goal is to open the eatery by late 2024, but that timeline is dependent on the construction schedule and permitting process.

Chen, who also owns a Japanese steakhouse in the area, went on to explain that it’s too early in the process to confirm the seating capacity at the location or share details on the interior decor, but he did confirm that the restaurant will have a full bar and that guests can expect the typical menu items found at a Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurant.

The business doesn’t have a website or social media presence just yet, but Chen stated that plans are in place to have those up and running before the eatery opens.
