One Columbus food truck appears to be making plans to open a stall in the city’s highly anticipated forthcoming food hall. Taesty’s has filed a permit to be a tenant of a stall at Grandview Crossing development’s The Collective Market, which is currently slated for opening this May.
With recipes inspired by his North Carolina upbringing, Taesty’s owner Tae Spell started serving up Southern style cuisine to Columbus when he started a food truck in 2019. Since then, Taesty’s has added a second food truck as well as a delivery and carryout location at 410 S Pickaway St, in Circleville, which opened in 2022.
Taesty’s menu features chicken wings, salads and chicken bacon ranch fries, which are fries loaded with chicken tenders, bacon, shredded cheese and ranch dressing. Other loaded fries selections include a Philly style, complete with wagyu beef, sauteed onions and cheese, as well as a barbecue version, which is fries topped with pulled pork, mac and cheese and barbecue sauce.
There’s also a pulled pork sandwich, wagyu burger and fried fish to choose from, all of which come with a choice of a side that ranges from Southern food staples like mac and cheese, cole slaw, sweet potato casserole and baked beans.
What Now Columbus reached out to Taesty’s for comment on its upcoming move to the food hall, but a response was not immediately available.
