A Dayton bakery is making plans to relocate. According to recent reporting, Val’s Bakery is moving from its current location at 1120 Brown St to downtown Dayton at 25 S St Clair St, in the former home of Twist Cupcakery. The new location will offer more space, with nearly twice the square footage of the Brown Street location.
The bakery started in 2020, as a home based business, but quickly grew and moved into a shared space with Dished!, where Val’s Bakery operated for eight months before outgrowing the location and moving into the current space on Brown Street, according to information on its website. Val’s Bakery once again outgrew the space and is aiming to open in the new downtown location in mid-January.
In a December 15, 2023 Facebook post, Val’s Bakery owner Paige Woodie shared that the new space presents an opportunity to house more equipment that will make it easier to include new menu offerings. With the larger kitchen, Woodie hopes to be able to make and serve laminated pastries and viennoiserie.
Menu offerings include cinnamon rolls, scones, cookies and focaccia, as well as matcha and coffee from Dayton roasteries, Twisted River Coffee and Namesake Coffee Roasters.
What Now Columbus reached out to Woodie for further comment, but a response wasn’t forthcoming by the time this article was published.
