According to a recent Dayton.com article, a new place to find healthy, fast casual options is on its way to the Dayton area. Seasoned With Love is making plans to open a brick and mortar location at 72 Bellbrook Plaza, in Bellbrook, in the former home of Blue Berry Cafe.

Owned by Christi Atkins, Seasoned With Love started as a meal prep business in Atkins’ home in 2022. Inspired by her own positive experience that resulted from changing her diet, Atkins started her business as a way to show others that eating healthy doesn’t have to be complicated and that eating nourishing foods can improve your quality of life.

“I want people to know that anyone at any age can feel good and it really comes down to the kinds of foods you put in your body,” Atkins said.

The Seasoned With Love menu rotates weekly, but some offerings have included items like a salmon bento box and BBQ chicken chopped salad, along with breakfast offerings like sandwiches or overnight oats. There are even dessert options made with natural sweeteners such as maple syrup or medjool dates. All menu items are gluten-free and most meal selections can be customized to be vegetarian and dairy-free.

Since much of the menu offerings don’t need to be cooked and can be eaten on the go, the new brick and mortar will feature a grab and go section with a variety of fresh, ready to eat fast casual options. While the location won’t offer guest seating, Atkins is planning on utilizing some of the 700 square foot space as event space that guests can rent for private events like bridal showers.

With the added prep space, equipment and event space, Atkins is excited to expand the catering portion of her business, which is something she’s leaned into by offering items like fruit or vegetable platters, charcuterie boards and grazing tables.

Although she started the business in her home, Atkins moved her prepping operations to a local church as her customer base grew. And since Atkins and her team make hundreds of meals per week, the brick and mortar location is something that’s been in the works for some time.

“I’d been looking for about a year and couldn’t find anything that would work and nothing ever felt right. When I saw it listed, everything just clicked,” Atkins said of the location.

Seasoned With Love is slated to open the brick and mortar location on June 1.
