DoorDash is preparing to relocate its Columbus DashMart hub to a new facility near Grandview Heights, according to reporting by Columbus Business First.
The San Francisco-based delivery company, known for its restaurant delivery platform, currently operates its local DashMart fulfilment centre at 1530 Gerrard Ave. The operation is now moving to a larger space at 1020 W. 5th Ave., Columbus, OH 43212, just around the corner from its existing location.
The new site previously housed wine distributor Vanguard Wines, and signage for DashMart has already been installed on the building.
Building permits filed with the City of Columbus indicate plans for a kitchen within the facility. While some DashMart locations include food preparation operations to support DoorDash’s delivery network, the site’s primary function will be to serve as a fulfilment centre for grocery, convenience, household, retail, and other everyday products available through the DashMart platform.
Columbus was among the first eight cities selected to receive a DashMart location when the concept launched in 2020.
DoorDash has not disclosed when the relocation will be completed or whether the new facility will offer expanded capabilities beyond those currently available.
The move comes as DoorDash continues to grow its commerce and retail operations. The company recently expanded its partnership with Kroger and launched DashMart Fulfillment Services, a programme designed to help retailers manage delivery logistics through DoorDash’s network.
In addition to grocery offerings, DashMart customers can access products from retailers such as CVS Pharmacy and Party City through the platform.
What Now Columbus reached out to DoorDash for comment but did not receive a response at the time of publication. This article will be updated when more information becomes available.
