The Texas-born Indian restaurant and grocery concept, Desi Chowrastha, appears to be preparing another Frisco location. According to public filings, the concept is planning a new 3,213-square-foot location at 10474 Coit Rd. in Collin County.
Desi Chowrastha’s offerings include Dum Biryani, curries, Irani Chai, and a range of Indian pastries and sweets, along with groceries, fresh produce, and halal meat.
What Now Dallas reached out to owner Sharath Kumar Podduturi to inquire about the opening timeline but did not hear back by the time of this publication. The filing lists a construction completion date of September 2027. However, dates listed in public filings are not always definitive.
The Coit Road location would mark at least the third Desi Chowrastha storefront in the Frisco area, joining existing locations on Rolater Road and FM 423, as the brand continues to build out its presence across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Desi Chowrastha has expanded steadily since its early growth phase in North Texas. Kumar told What Now Dallas in 2022 that new locations were planned for Frisco, Little Elm, and Northlake as the concept expanded across the Metroplex.
The concept has since grown well beyond Texas. Desi Chowrastha has expanded to roughly 20 locations in cities ranging from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Nashua, New Hampshire, What Now reported earlier this year in connection with the brand’s first Florida location in St. Johns.
