Taste of Europe has announced the permanent closure of its Arlington location. The restaurant will serve its final meal at the end of this month, marking the end of its more than two-decade journey. The restaurant announced the closure in a Facebook post.
Taste of Europe to Close Soon
Located at 1901 W Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, Taste of Europe is a highly rated Eastern European restaurant. The restaurant, founded in 2002, offers a comforting and relaxed atmosphere along with a diverse menu of options. The restaurant’s dishes are inspired by Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, and Russia.
Established by Mikhail Frumkin from Belarus, the restaurant also features a European product market and catering services. The restaurant is a local favorite spot because of its authentic, home-style dining experiences. The restaurant gained national attention after appearing on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives in 2012.
Through a social media post, the restaurant team shared the heartbreaking news of its closure. The team said, “To our valued customers and community, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the upcoming closure of our restaurant.”
The restaurant’s final day of service is set for the end of July. In the post, the team thanked the community for its support and added, “We are incredibly grateful for the support, loyalty, and wonderful memories you’ve shared with us. It has been our pleasure serving you.”
Why Taste of Europe Is Closing
According to the CultureMap Fort Worth report, Alexandre Tsalko, the co-owner of the restaurant, explained that low foot traffic was the reason for the closure.
The restaurant closed its doors in the summer of 2024 and reopened in November 2024 due to financial issues. Taste of Europe was also nominated for Neighborhood Restaurant of the Year in the CultureMap Tastemaker Awards.
Despite reopening in November 2024, the restaurant announced plans to permanently close in 2026. As the restaurant prepared to wind down its services, it left behind a lasting impression on the Arlington dining community.
