TAIPO is a new restaurant that will feature two concepts within one space in Arlington. Rachel Puri and her friend Riza Rawal have partnered to open TAIPO at 212 E Abram St., Ste. 140 in Arlington.

“We’re really excited. I think it’s something that’s different, not only for us, but for the Arlington area in general,” Puri said. Puri and Rawal are both from Nepal, and they wanted to share Nepali cuisines with the community. Chef Ranjan Thapa will curate and create the TAIPO menu.

“We wanted to bring Nepali flavors but then mix them with Asian flavors,” Puri said. The front half of TAIPO will include take-out and to-go menu options throughout the week. Guests can enjoy takeout bowls, wraps, and other dishes, but there will be a few seats for dine-in guests.

“We will have a speakeasy on the back end of our space,” Puri said. They expect to open the speakeasy to guests on the weekends, possibly Thursday through Sunday. The speakeasy space will include Nepali art and be an immersive experience.

The speakeasy will feature a full bar and include a different menu. Guests in the speakeasy can enjoy tapas, or small plates, of Asian-fusion dishes. TAIPO is currently under construction, but they hope to open in late summer.
