The acclaimed cocktail bar located at 6323 Camp Bowie Blvd #125, Fort Worth, Texas, has been serving the Fort Worth community for more than ten years. Since opening in 2015, The Basement Lounge has become a local favorite known for its cozy, laid-back atmosphere.

The underground cocktail bar has built a strong following by serving classic drinks, craft cocktails, art shows, live music shows, and other entertainment events. The bar was also voted the best lounge in the Best of Nightlife & Entertainment category by Fort Worth magazine.

Owners Jesse Meráz and Christopher Neu announced the closure on Instagram. They said that after careful consideration, they had decided to close The Basement Lounge.

The owners encouraged customers to stop by before the bar closes at the end of the month.

“We invite you to join us during our remaining weeks as we celebrate the people, memories, and moments that have defined the Basement Lounge,” said the team.

What Led to the Closure

In the closure announcement, the bar owners shared that the increasing rent, insurance, and other expenses have made its operations difficult.

They highlighted, “This was not an easy decision, and it comes after exhausting every available option to keep our doors open.” However, the owners remain hopeful that the closure is not a goodbye forever; they hope to bring a new concept for the Fort Worth community someday.

The bar owners thanked the community, customers, staff, musicians, and artists for their love and support. “Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives and for supporting us throughout this extraordinary journey,” stated the owners.

The Basement Lounge’s closure marks the end of a decade-long run for one of Fort Worth’s well-known cocktail destinations.
