A Texas original is getting ready to brew up a fresh pot of great java for the DFW. Summer Moon Coffee will be caffeinating the region in a new Prosper location, with work set to begin this summer.

The cafe is setting up its percolators at 4325 W University Drive Suite 10. Paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation pertaining to Summer Moon’s upcoming Prosper storefront states that the establishment will span 1,970 square feet of renovated space.

Work is projected to begin this summer; dates included on TDLR paperwork are estimates but provide a reasonable framework for development. The form states that construction will begin on Summer Moon on June 22 of this year and should wrap by August 21. This could bode well for a late summer or early fall opening.

Summer Moon Coffee poured its first cup of java in 2002. Alongside its wood-fired coffee, the concept has made a name for itself through its signature “moon milk”, described on the website as “a family recipe made of 7 top-secret ingredients. It does not contain honey or major food allergens. Moon Milk can be made dairy-free for you using oat, almond or coconut milk; your choice.”

The chain has enjoyed considerable success, growing to more than 70 locations across the nation. Summer Moon Coffee has made itself an indispensable part of the coffee world through its stated mission: “to create a distinctive, out-of-this-world, experience that people drive across town for. An experience to be shared through coffee and atmospheres that inspire the warmth of cozy evenings under a summer moon.”
