7-Eleven, the world’s largest convenience store chain, is bringing a new location to McGregor. According to public filings, the store is planned for the intersection of Highway 84 and Main Street, with a construction completion date targeted for May 2027.
What Now Dallas reached out to 7 Eleven representatives to inquire about an opening timeline, but did not get an answer prior to this publication
7-Eleven’s roots trace back to Texas: the chain got its start in 1927, when an employee at the Southland Ice Company in Dallas began selling milk, eggs, and bread out of an icehouse to save customers a trip to the grocery store, a concept credited as the origin of the modern convenience store. Nearly a century later, 7-Eleven has grown into a global brand offering fuel, prepared foods, coffee, and its 7Rewards loyalty program across thousands of locations.
Texas remains one of 7-Eleven’s most expanded markets, with well over 1,000 stores statewide, and McLennan County is already home to several locations in and around Waco.
The addition of a McGregor store would extend that footprint further into the county’s smaller communities, adding another 24-hour option along a corridor that has seen steady residential and commercial growth in recent years.
