A Blazing Bird is eying a second location in Aurora, according to a permit application. The newest location for the Nashville hot chicken chain is set to open in a shopping plaza on 15064 E Mississippi Ave.

Muradyan opened his first Blazing Bird in Arvada back in 2021 and expanded rapidly. It may be trite, but not inaccurate, to say that Blazing Bird was on fire last year. In 2025, owner Artem Muradyan opened three locations across Denver and its surrounding cities. It opened locations in Capitol Hill, Lakewood and a location near the University of Denver in December. The upcoming location in Aurora will be the ninth for the Nashville hot chicken chain and the second in Aurora, with a location already on East Colfax Ave.

Nashville chicken is generally characterized by two things: size and heat. Ideally, your chicken sandwich should look like a slab of fried chicken wearing a brioche bun like a small hat. The chicken should jut out of its bun so the first few bites are actually just pure chicken, deep fried and coated in a foreboding, red dust. Blazing Bird serves its spicy chicken in various forms, from sandwiches to quesadillas. Even it’s caesar salad comes spicy. Customers can adjust their chicken along six levels of spice, the highest of which, Blazing, requires a waiver.

Last year, Blazing Bird announced that all its chicken was now certified halal. “We believe great flavor should be enjoyed by everyone,” its Instagram announcement reads.

The upcoming Blazing Bird doesn’t have an opening date as of yet.
