The team behind Buena Vista’s The Buena Viking will be transforming the space it occupied before its move. Evan and Anna Winger will be creating a concept with a similar casual vibe in its place at 413 E. Main St., Ark Valley Voice reports. It will be called La Sirena.
Last month, the couple received approval from the Town of Buena Vista Board of Trustees for a liquor license for the property, records show. There will be a small inside bar setup, with outside tables and food served from a truck permanently onsite, just like The Buena Viking when it first started out.
La Sirena will serve tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and tequila-friendly cocktails. Job postings show hiring is already underway for the concept, and they are looking for line cooks and window staff. It will be a small team of three to four people per shift.
The Wingers started with The Buena Viking food truck in 2017, and turned it into a more permanent operation in 2021 when they purchased the lot behind the Orpheum Theater and added the bar. By 2024, the business had grown substantially, and they were able to turn it into a brick-and-mortar establishment just down the block.
