Records show that an El Pollo Loco franchisee is planning to build a restaurant at 5598 Tower Rd. in the northwest region of the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood. It will be a 2,400-square-foot space with 24 parking spaces and a drive-through.

Legend Engineering firm told What Now Denver they are preparing to have the site development plan reviewed. The area was an empty field on the southeast corner of Tower Rd. and 56th Ave., near the heavily-traveled Peña Blvd. airport route.

This is the second Colorado El Pollo Loco that will be opened by Leemar United Group, a franchisee that signed a four-unit deal for Denver. The first location of the deal opened on Peoria St. last year.

Leemar United Group also owns El Pollo Loco locations in California and Utah, as well as locations of Farmer Boys restaurant. The family-run enterprise has been in the franchising business since 1994.
