Denver-based coffee shop and café Frank & Roze is opening a second location in Uptown later this year, where it will be expanding its offerings. According to BusinessDen, the company is taking over the old D Bar spot at 494 E 19th Ave.
The 4,100-square-foot space at 19th Avenue and Pennsylvania Street is on the ground floor of the One City Block apartment complex. It has been vacant for the last year, since D Bar shuttered that location in early August, Westword writes. Frank & Roze signed a 10-year lease for the space, and the hope is to welcome guests by the holiday season.
It has a larger kitchen and a full bar, and they will be able to offer an upgraded brunch menu and an evening happy hour program with cocktails. Its menu currently includes ethically sourced, house‑roasted coffee and espresso beverages alongside small bites, and beer and wine at night.
The original Frank & Roze opened in November 2019, 303 Magazine reports. Co-owner Brenda Godfrey spent a decade as a VP at Starbucks before moving into the entrepreneurial world. Chef Tom Coohill, owner of the downtown bistro Coohills, is leading the culinary direction at both locations.
