A local food truck operation is preparing to put down permanent roots, with permitting records showing it’s moving into a brick-and-mortar space in Arvada. The Spicy Kitchen, a Mexican concept, is in the process of renovating a former bakery building at 9606 Ralston Road.
Before this, the owners were operating the business from a food truck and leasing off-site kitchen space for food preparation. Its menu highlights Mexican comfort staples, including burritos, tacos, tortas, tostadas, enchilada plates, quesadillas, Mexican pizza, chile cheese fries, and house-made salsas sold by the bottle.
Project records show that a commercial tenant finish for a small restaurant is in progress. The renovations cover approximately 1,102 square feet and include extensive electrical, mechanical, plumbing, roofing, and kitchen work.
The property is also within the Ralston Fields Urban Renewal Area, so the owners are eligible for reimbursement assistance for building improvements. Documents show the owners have been working with the city to secure nearly $200,000.
