Los Dos Potrillos is heading to Loveland, bringing its family-owned Mexican restaurant concept to The Promenade Shops at Centerra next year.

The restaurant is planned for 6015 Sky Pond Drive, where it will take approximately 6,897 square feet at the shopping center. The new location is expected to open in spring 2027, according to recent reports on the expansion.

Los Dos Potrillos also confirms the Loveland opening on its website, listing the city among its two upcoming Colorado locations alongside a new restaurant planned for Colorado Springs.

The Loveland restaurant will be the brand’s first location in the city and will add another stop to a growing Colorado footprint. Los Dos Potrillos currently operates restaurants in Centennial, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock and Denver.

Guests can expect the menu to center on the family recipes that have been part of Los Dos Potrillos since the restaurant opened its first location in Centennial in 2002. The menu includes tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, combination plates, seafood dishes, desserts and other Mexican favorites.

The restaurant’s story goes back to the Ramirez and Delgado families in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico. According to Los Dos Potrillos’ website, José and Martha Ramírez brought those family recipes to Colorado and opened the original restaurant more than two decades ago. The company is now led by the next generation of the family.

That family history is also expected to become part of the Loveland restaurant itself. The new locations will feature the brand’s ‘Wall of Traditions’, a collection of family photographs documenting three generations and the roots behind the restaurant.

The expansion comes as Los Dos Potrillos prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2027. The Ramirez Hospitality Group has said it plans to continue growing the brand, with two to three additional locations expected to be added across the Rocky Mountain region each year.

The company also expects the two 2027 openings in Loveland and Colorado Springs to create approximately 100 jobs combined. An exact opening date has not yet been announced.
