A new contender is stepping into the Denver dining scene, transforming a familiar Uptown corner into a Chinese noodle concept. According to Naked Denver, a group of restaurateurs is working to transform the space at 1400 E 17th Avenue into a restaurant called Magic Artisan Noodle.
The concept comes from Noodle Den LLC, the team behind Kung Fu Tea and TKK Fried Chicken in Colorado Springs and Hana Matsuri Sushi in Westminster. They signed a lease for the 2,781-square-foot standalone building with the help of Henry Group Real Estate and Madison Commercial Properties.
Co-owner Nina Zhang told What Now Denver she and partners Lingli and Dianwei are waiting for their construction permit and expect to put around $600,000 in the remodeling efforts. They are working on the liquor license (records show a hearing was scheduled for mid-May, but the outcome is listed as “pending”) and expect to open in November.
“Magic Artisan Noodle exists to reinterpret traditional Chinese handmade noodles in a contemporary fashion. We will fully show the customers the quality of food ingredients, with a classic noodle-making show. Our master chef is from Las Vegas and opened several hand-pull noodle restaurants there,” Zhang said.
It will be taking over an empty shell that previously housed a Qdoba. When that business shuttered is unclear, however, real estate listings from last year state its lease was set to expire this July, but that the Mexican chain would be willing to vacate the property within 100 days of a new tenant signing on.
