Knotted Root Brewing Company, a Nederland-based craft brewery, is bringing its signature style to East Colfax Avenue with a new tasting room: Knotted Root Presents the Circular Lounge. The business announced the expansion in a post on Facebook recently.
The venue is expected to open early this summer at 5126 East Colfax, and be a “’70s dive bar with a craft beer lens”, according to Westword. It’s in a 2,500-square-foot space that will feature a pool hall, retro arcade, outdoor patio, and a jukebox.
All beers will continue to be brewed at the concept’s original location in Nederland, where Knotted Root also produces beers under the Circular Beer Co. brand name. There will also be non-alcoholic options and hot sandwiches.
Founder and head brewer Chris Marchio started brewing in Vermont, studied fermentation in Washington, and worked in California’s Anderson Valley before coming to Colorado. He was the first brewer for the Fiction Beer Company, before working at Edgewater’s Joyride Brewing, then founding Knotted Root and Circular Beer Co., according to his LinkedIn profile.
