Casual Italian eatery Osteria Marco will be joining the flurry of concepts joining the Denver International Airport (DIA) this year amid the ongoing reshuffle of tenants at the DIA.

The new location is part of the major revamp that has been underway at the DIA over the past couple years, which has focused on design and tenant changes across the airport as well as the addition of gates to multiple concourses.

The airport has been constructing marketplaces throughout the airport, with an eventual plan for six marketplaces throughout the airport. The first one opened in May in Concourse A, featuring tenants like Elways Taproom & Grill, Peet’s Coffee and Tacos Tequila Whiskey.

Two marketplaces are expected to open this fall in Concourse C, and there are two more in Concourse B-East and Concourse A-West in the pipeline that are expected to open later in the year, according to Denver Business Journal.

Osteria Marco and several other spots including Santo, Peet’s Coffee and Einstein Bros. Bagels will be replacing locations that are set for closure such as Wolfgang Puck, Out West, Topo, Sara Lee, Caribou Coffee and Vino Volo.

Frank Bonanno first opened Osteria Marco in 2007 at 1453 Larimer St. Named after his son Marco, the eatery features a lunch and dinner menu that serves fresh-rolled past, hand-tossed pizzas and paninis. The drink menu features signature cocktails, draft beer and mocktails.

While most spots coming to the airport are expected to open this year, Bonanno told What Now Denver that they are still in the permitting process for Osteria Marco so the opening timeline is not clear as of now.

Bonanno Concepts has several other restaurants around the Denver area, including Luca, a more high-end Italian spot.
