Playa Bowls, a leading acai bowl and smoothie chain, is bringing its vibrant, healthy offerings to Boulder. Set to open by the end of the year, the new Playa Bowls location will be at 1310 College Ave, according to a recent press release.

This store will be close to the University of Colorado campus. This marks another milestone in Playa Bowls’ rapid national expansion, as the company continues to grow its footprint across the United States. The company now has over 275 locations across 22 states.

The Boulder location is being launched by franchisees Cody Benisch and Robert Wissing. Since opening their first location in 2021, Benisch and Wissing have successfully grown their portfolio to five stores. Their next goal is to open five additional locations over the next two years.

Founded in 2016 by Robert Giuliani and Abby Taylor in Belmar, New Jersey, Playa Bowls started as a small venture with just a blender, fridge, and a sidewalk pop-up. It quickly grew in popularity thanks to its refreshing bowls made from acai, pitaya, and other tropical superfoods.
