Denver-based Sage Hospitality Group has announced a landmark partnership to manage the legendary The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, according to Mile High CRE. The property, at 333 E Wonderview Ave, hosts a number of bars and eateries that will be managed by the company’s restaurant subsidiary.

This is a new chapter for the history 68-acre property, which was built in 1909 and boasts 191 rooms across multiple lodging experiences: the hotel, the Lodge at The Stanley, the apartment-style Aspire at The Stanley, and the expansive Residences at The Stanley. Sage will reportedly invest in adding 65 rooms, a 65,000-square-foot event center, and a curated horror film museum with rotating exhibits.

On site at The Stanley Hotel are Cascades Restaurant & Lounge and its accompanying Whiskey Bar, The Patio at The Stanley cafe-style eatery, The Post Chicken & Beer, Colorado Cherry Co. bakery, and The 217 Wine Bar. All are open to both guests and the public. The resort also offers Estes Park residents membership to its exclusive 517 Club, with perks like food and drink discounts and complimentary parking, its website advertises.

Sage Hospitality Group was founded in 1984 and has grown into a leader in resort and restaurant management, debuting Sage Restaurant Concepts in 2005. Its Colorado portfolio also includes several hotels located Downtown, in Cherry Creek, along the Front Range, and in Breckenridge, and nearly two dozen restaurants around the state.

A representative with Sage Hospitality Group declined to provide additional information or a comment on the acquisition.
