New restaurant Sizzle Mediterranean Grill is set to open its doors at 2720 South Colorado Blvd, filling the space previously occupied by Twin Fin Poke. The project is currently in the permitting process, according to city records.

The business will remodel the existing property, which spans 1,976 square feet. It is next to Potbelly and near Chick-fil-A in the University Hills shopping center at the corner of South Colorado Boulevard and Yale Blvd.

A new kitchen area will take up 609 square feet, expanding the previous kitchen setup. In addition to standard equipment like a mop sink and three-compartment sink, the renovation will bring in new hoods vented into the existing roof ventilation system. New-to-the-space appliances will be introduced, but the order counter will be retained from the previous tenant.

Sizzle’s seating capacity will be nearly the same as Twin Fin Poke’s, with a total occupant count of 95, including the outdoor patio, which will accommodate up to 22 people. The layout will still feature 44 chairs in the seating area.

Ali Alissa, who is the entrepreneur behind Pita Fresh, is listed on documents as the owner of the new restaurant. He also runs Pita Fresh, another popular fast-casual Mediterranean spot known for its shawarma, falafel, hummus, and pita-crust pizza. That eatery has locations near the University of Denver students and one on 16th Street Mall.
