Larimer Square is set to welcome another dining concept, with Som Dee Signature planning to open at 1442 Larimer Street early next year.
The Thai restaurant is the latest concept from Orrapan Botthaisong, the owner behind Som Dee Thai Kitchen in Denver and La Mai Thai Kitchen in Edgewater. According to a recent report from The Denver Post, Botthaisong now expects Som Dee Signature to open shortly after the new year.
Som Dee Thai Kitchen’s website currently lists Somdee Signature as ‘coming soon’, as work continues on the new downtown location.
Som Dee Signature will occupy the former CRÚ Food & Wine Bar space and is planned as a more expansive dining experience than Botthaisong’s existing restaurants. Plans for the approximately 3,100-square-foot space include a main dining room and a lower-level area designed for multi-course dining.
The restaurant is expected to draw from the flavors and dishes found at Som Dee Thai Kitchen while offering its own experience in the heart of downtown Denver.
Som Dee Thai Kitchen’s menu includes Thai staples such as Khao Soi, Pad Thai and traditional curries, along with dishes including Shrimp Jungle Jam and Salmon Lemongrass Salad.
The new restaurant has also been working its way through the city’s permitting process. Earlier filings called for interior renovations, including new food-service equipment, interior improvements and a lower-level bar.
Som Dee Signature will become the third Thai restaurant operated by Botthaisong in the Denver area, adding another location to her growing restaurant portfolio. An exact opening date has not yet been announced, but Som Dee Signature is currently targeting an early 2027 debut in Larimer Square.
