Adrian Grace is leveling up her business empire from a popular food truck and catering company into a full brick-and-mortar restaurant and bar in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood. The chef will be opening What’s Happening Restaurant and Bar at 2801 Welton St., according to the Denver Post.

The venue will take over the former home of craft sour beer bar Goed Zuur, which closed in 2023 after a six-year run. This new 2,500-square-foot space will allow her to expand her customer base, serving lunch, dinner, and the occasional brunch at a permanent home. There will also be a bar with cocktails and local beers from breweries like WestFax and Landlocked Ales.

It has been a journey to get the space ready for business. According to posts, Grace signed a five-year lease for the space back in June of last year, paying $9,000 per month. Permits were approved in April for various projects that needed to be done, including installing a grease trap and a ventilation hood.

Grace has run What’s Happening Catering as a food truck since 2019, serving up wings, pulled pork grilled cheese, and other comfort-food staples at festivals, events, and weddings. Prior to that, she worked in server and management positions at several chain eateries. She plans to pause food truck operations while getting the restaurant up and running, but may resume at a later date.
