Sumo Dog, which mixes the classic American hot dog with Japanese-inspired flavors, is set to expand its presence to Snowmass soon. According to the company’s website, the brand will open at a location in town that has yet to be disclosed.

The business has opened a number of venues and pop-ups, at places like Yankee Stadium, AT&T Stadium, SoFi Stadium, and major events such as the Coachella Music Festival and Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Jeffrey Lunak, who previously worked with “Iron Chef” Masaharu Morimoto’s restaurant group, is the founder of the brand. He first launched a brick-and-mortar launch in Los Angeles’ Koreatown in 2017, and has several more planned to open this year, the website shows.

The official Aspen/Snowmass Instagram account posted recently that Sumo Dog was a vendor at the recent opening of The Cabin, a slope-side eatery. It was a great opportunity to introduce the coming brand to the community.

There is no word yet on what the address for Sumo Dog will be, or when it will open. Requests for comment from the company went unanswered.
