Denver chef and restaurateur Troy Guard is working on an emerging concept that he plans to debut downtown. Details are scarce, but it has been confirmed by Naked Denver that he has signed a lease for the first floor at the 30-story 1900 Lawrence St. tower.
Guard, founder of TAG Restaurant Group, signed on for a ground-floor shell space that’s 7,000 square feet total, including a 1,500-square-foot patio. A tentative opening is set for spring 2027, and further info on the name, type of concept, and menu will come later on, a PR representative tells What Now Denver.
“Denver is where we’ve built our restaurants, raised our families, and formed lasting relationships with the people and neighborhoods that make this city special. Like many local operators, we’ve felt the challenges of the current business environment, and it’s no secret that operating a restaurant in Denver has become more difficult over the years,” Guard told the publication.
“Given the current situation in Denver, we weren’t actively planning to open something new here, but the right opportunity at 1900 Lawrence came along, bringing with it a lot of excitement to introduce something fresh and new from TAG Restaurant Group to downtown. We’re always open to conversations with city leaders and partners about how to make Denver more welcoming for small and mid-sized businesses like ours,” he added.
Tenancy at the property has been steadily increasing, with firms such as Monfort, Reed Smith, Gibson Dunn and Crutcher LLP, and Marsh McLennan joining the tower, and Leven Deli secured as another upcoming F&B tenant. Jones Lang Lasalle Brokerage, Inc. is handling leasing efforts, a brochure shows.
