An Eagle County QDOBA has a new owner following a major franchise acquisition deal spanning multiple states, according to Vail Daily. The 20-unit agreement includes the 2161 N Frontage Rd W, Suite 9 store, in West Vail near the Safeway.
Aspen-based investor Barry Dubin is the new franchisee for the restaurant, through his company B Wild Investments LLC. He is also assuming ownership of the Steamboat Springs store (which we covered last week), several on the Western Slope of the state, and a few in Alaska.
The two mountain eateries were previously owned by Flavors West, which was run by franchisee Michael Scott. He has since retired. A PR representative confirmed that the stores will have the same operating hours and team members.
Dubin’s acquisition of these locations follows the news that he signed a massive deal to open 50 new stores in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, and Alaska. This has quickly placed him as one of the brand’s top operators.
His background includes co-founding KBP Brands, which expanded to more than 1,000 restaurant units nationwide under the Taco Bell, KFC, Arby’s, and Sonic Drive-In monikers. Franchise Times reports he also serves as executive chairman of US Laundry LLC, the largest Tide Laundromat franchisee in the country.
