A little bit of everything is coming to LoHi as The General Store expands from Littleton into a new Denver location.
The shop is taking over a space in the Tamburello building on 16th Street, next to the landmark Little Man Ice Cream location and its giant 26-foot-tall milk-churn sculpture according to the Denver Post. The new store will be the second location for the business, which has operated as General Store 45 in historic downtown Littleton.
The company has already rebranded as The General Store as it prepares to open the second location. On its website, the owners describe the shop as a modern take on the traditional mom-and-pop store, with a focus on community and locally connected shopping.
The original Littleton store was purchased about eight years ago by owner Nicole Haas. What began as a new venture in retail has grown over the years, with the business now ready to bring its concept to LoHi.
The store’s selection is built around the kind of items shoppers might stumble across while browsing rather than making a trip for one specific product. Its offerings include gifts, food and grocery items, home goods, toys, Colorado-themed products and other small finds.
The General Store’s website currently features gift boxes built around Colorado food and home products, as well as custom gift baskets and themed boxes, reflecting the store’s focus on gifts and curated finds. The LoHi location is intended to carry the same neighborhood-shop feel while giving the concept more room to grow.
The business describes the new store as a place centered on community, craftsmanship and the character of Denver, with warm, personal service at the center of the experience. The new shop will also bring the business into one of LoHi’s busiest stretches, just steps from Little Man Ice Cream and surrounded by restaurants, bars and other neighborhood businesses.
The company has not announced a specific grand-opening date yet, but its website says something new is coming soon to the LoHi neighborhood.
